One man died at the scene of a shooting in Surrey on June 11.

An Abbotsford man with no criminal history was fatally shot at his place of work June 11 in what police believe was a targeted shooting.

At about 3:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at a business near 160th Street and 84 Avenue in Surrey.

There, they found a male suffering from life-threatening injuries and, despite life-saving measures, the man died at the scene.

小蓝视频’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victim as Satwinder Sharma, 56, in hopes of advancing the investigation.

Police said early indications suggest the incident was targeted and no one else was injured as a result of the shooting.

“Investigators are working diligently to determine the motive and the circumstances surrounding the homicide,” IHIT spokesperson Freda Fong said.

“There is high foot-traffic in this area and we are fortunate that no one else was hurt,” she said. “IHIT continues to work closely with Mr. Sharma’s family and our thoughts are with them during this very difficult time.”

Police are seeking public assistance and would like dashcam footage from anyone who was in the area of 160th Street and 84 Avenue at the time.
