A 小蓝视频 man is facing multiple firearm charges in connection with seizures of 13 restricted weapons, while another is facing firearm and drug-trafficking charges.
Daniel Martin Penton, 32, appeared before Vancouver Provincial Court Judge Andrea Brownstone April 29 on seven charges while Enael Chapas, 29, appeared on eight counts.
Penton is in custody while Chapas is not.
All charges relate to Feb. 20.
The Penton charges
Penton is charged with possession of six unloaded restricted firearms with readily accessible ammunition without licence or certification. Those weapons are:
• a Heckler & Koch model 30L pistol;
• a CZ model 75B pistol;
• an unknown make or model 1911A1 pistol;
• a Smith & Wesson model 625-2 revolver;
• a Ruger revolver; and,
• a Smith & Wesson model 586 revolver.
Penton is also charged with possession without licence or registration of three loaded firearms: a Glock model 19C pistol, Glock model 43 pistol, and a cut-down Browning model Buck Mark semi-automatic rifle.
He is further charged with having four unloaded prohibited firearms without licence or registration, namely a Glock model 44 pistol, a Polymer 88 pistol, an unknown make Skorpion-type automatic submachine gun and a Glock model 23 pistol.
As well, Penton is charged with having, without a licence, eight silencers or suppressers and five oversized magazines.
Other charges allege serial numbers on some of the weapons had been altered, defaced or removed.
Penton is also charged with possessing firearms while prohibited from doing so.
And, Penton is charged with possessing counterfeit Canadian currency.
All the Penton charges related to Vancouver while the Chapas allegations are in connection with Burnaby incidents.
The Chapas charges
Chapas is charged with possession of ketamine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
He is further charged with possession of an unloaded prohibited firearm, an EMEI (Norinco) model rifle with readily available ammunition without licence or registration.
Chapas also faces a charge of possession of a restricted firearm, a Glock 17-type pistol, without licence or registration.
And, Chapas is charged with possessing an unloaded, restricted firearm, a Sarsilmaz model SAR9 pistol with readily accessible ammunition without licence or registration.
He is also charged with having two oversized magazines, possession two firearms with altered, defaced or removed serial numbers and possession of firearms while prohibited.
