Another Squamish event scheduled for next month has been cancelled for this year.
The annual Children鈥檚 Festival has been officially cancelled, but a fundraiser for the 2019 event is still going ahead.
This cancellation marks the second time this year organizers pulled the plug on a September event due to a lack of volunteers.
Earlier this summer, organizers for the Brackendale Fall Fair announced that due to a lack of volunteers, this year鈥檚 fair will not go ahead.
In July, organizers for the Children鈥檚 Festival went public with a plea for funding and volunteers.
鈥淭he 2018 Squamish Children鈥檚 Festival is in crisis mode,鈥� wrote organizer Tara Lee last month. 鈥淚 had to plead to the society members to give it one more week. I know we can make this happen. I am reaching out to local businesses to take a look at where you may be able to help.鈥�
Lee said that they needed sponsors in place by the end of July.
But alas, it was not possible to get everything in place in time to hold the event by the festival鈥檚 scheduled Sept. 1 date.

The third annual Squamish Children鈥檚 Festival Music Fundraiser will go ahead Sunday, Aug. 19 to help pay for the 2019 event, according to organizers.
The event, slated for Cheekye across from the ranch, will include Cat Madden and The Hairfarmers performing early in the evening followed by DJs Lozen and Seenik Audio, plus a Hip Hop performance by Discreet Da Chosen 1.
鈥淲e have a playground, games, face painter, trampoline, and fort for the kids. For the adults: Frisbee golf, bolo, a bar, or chill and listen to the music,鈥� reads an event post by Garibaldi Window Screens, one of the event sponsors.
The fundraiser will also include a beer/wine bar and barbecue dinner.
