Squamish-based companyhas garnered some love from the Whistler Chamber of Commerce.
The company won the Whistler Excellence Award for 鈥淪ustainability in Action,鈥� at a ceremony held at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, on Wednesday night.
The company, which picks up waste from construction sites throughout the Lower Mainland as well as the Sea to Sky Corridor, has been in business for three years.**
鈥淪ea to Sky Removal is on a pioneering mission to change the construction industry鈥檚 waste disposal practices, and educate workers in the process,鈥� says the Sea to Sky Removal's owner Chris Arkell, on the company鈥檚 website.
The company has developed recycling stations that are set up on job sites to help reduce waste heading to the landfill, and they offer recycling tutorials to crews.
听Around 300 pounds of recyclables can be diverted per recycling service, according to the company.
