The Squamish Public Library will be hosting the event over the course of two days.

Learn portrait sculpting at Quest

Learn to sculpt with artist James Stewart, whose work appeared in Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia and District 9.

Participants will create a clay sculpture.

The free event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Quest University on Nov. 3.

Angela Muellers at the BAG

A new artist will be displaying her work at the Brackendale Art Gallery.

Entitled Squamish Places & Faces, Angela Muellers’ exhibit will have its opening on Nov. 4 at 3 p.m.

Take a hike!

Squamish has some of the most prolific hiking and walking groups that you can find in any community.

With three clubs dedicated to trekking through the outdoors, you’ll find plenty to do if getting around on two feet is your preferred method of transportation.

- Over the Hill Hikers meet this week on Nov. 6 for a walk at Pleasure Trail/Rigs of Zen Loop. The group will meet at the end of Tantalus Road at 9 a.m. Details at 604-815-8561.

- The Tantalus Walking Group will hike this week on Nov. 1 at Alice Lake. Meet at the parking lot.

The group will also take a walk at the golf course on Nov. 6. Meet at the parking lot.
