Pedal with Pride and more: six events happening in Squamish

From mountain biking for beginners to a thrilling escape room challenge at the library, there’s no shortage of things to do around town.

1. Today, June 22, it's Pedal with Pride 2025 at Dialed In Cycling, located at 1796 Depot Rd., from noon to 6 p.m. 

"Beginner Mountain Bike Event for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community," reads the listing.

"Pedal with Pride 2025 is an event intended for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community aged 15 or older. It is a fun-filled day of mountain biking for folks completely new to the sport and for beginners who already bike. No prior experience is needed—just a sense of adventure!"

2. Also on June 22, groove to Jazz Night at Trickster's Hideout, located at 38005 Cleveland Ave., from 5 to 10 p.m.

"Jazz Night will feature talented musicians delivering smooth, soulful sounds," reads the listing.

3. June 26, the Summer Reading Club Launch Party is on at the Squamish Public Library, from 12 to 4 p.m.

"Kids ages 5 to 14: Pick up your reading record and join in the summer reading fun!" reads the listing.

4. On June 27, there's Silence in the Library: an Escape Event, at the Squamish Public Library, located at 37907 2 Ave., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

"An event for teens! Celebrate the start of summer by taking part in Silence in the Library. Come alone, or form a team (no more than four) and join us as we lock you in the library. You and your team will be presented with a number of puzzles and challenges to solve in a race against the clock to see if you can find the code to unlock the cabinet of mysteries," reads the listing.

5. Looking ahead to July 10, freak yourself out old school at Summer Movie Series: JAWS at the Squamish Public Library, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

"Beat the heat and come to the library for a screening of Jaws to celebrate its 50th anniversary," reads the listing.

"Jaws (rated PG) is a 1975 American thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg. Based on the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley, it stars Roy Scheider as police chief Martin Brody, who, with the help of a marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a professional shark hunter (Robert Shaw), hunts a man-eating great white shark that attacks beachgoers at a summer resort town."

6. For July 1, Canada Day, it's NiKo: Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh Squamish Together at Junction Park, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

"Head to Downtown Squamish on Canada Day July 1 for Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh Squamish Together, a celebration of community. Let’s remember our past, honour our traditional lands, and aim toward a brighter future together. Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh Squamish Together is a day that celebrates our diversely rich community amongst live music, art, food and beverage, and craft from many community groups and cultures," reads the listing.
