1. On May 24, head to the new House of Lager Brewing Company for Chess Tournament: Community Waves 2025, from 1 to 6 p.m.
"Come for a fun, friendly chess tournament, stay for the outdoor activities and community potluck," reads the listing.
"In collaboration with the Tantalus Wellspring Society, the Squamish Welcome Centre is offering [this] free event on May 24th to celebrate community health, connection, and the amazing work that volunteers and community members do. Join for any or all of the activities, or just come and hang out, play Frisbee or hula hoop, and make new friends in the park."
2. On May 23 and 24, head to Squamish General Hospital, at 38140 Behrner Dr., for the White Elephant Squamish General Hospital Auxiliary Fundraiser.
"White Elephant Sale to raise money for a new point-of-care ultrasound machine for the hospital's Emergency Department," reads the listing.
The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
3. May 25, roll over to the Kids' Bike Drive, at 40446 Government Rd, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Donate or pick up used bikes: Bikes can be dropped off in the morning, in fair to good working condition. No parts please, mostly kids bikes. Bikes can be picked up in the afternoon after they have been fixed up in the morning ready to ride. All welcome. Bike mechanics also needed for helping to fix bikes," reads the listing.
4.On May 31, join the ongoing affordable housing conversation at Housing Hope from 2 to 8 p.m. at 2301 Mamquam Rd.
"Let’s flip the script on housing in Squamish! Join us at the Heart House to celebrate community and start a bold conversation about how we can change the future of housing in Squamish. All ages welcome," reads the listing.
The event will include mural painting, barbecue, a presentation, and a group discussion. The event is put on by DWIFT Housing.
5. Looking ahead to June 1, there's the Squamish Pride Parade down Cleveland Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"The Squamish Pride Parade is an annual community celebration and reflection of 2SLGBTQIA+ pride and Pride Month kickoff in the heart of downtown Squamish. The inclusive event brings together local artists, community organizations, businesses and allies to support and promote 2SLGBTQIA+ visibility and rights with the shared vision of safety, equality and acceptance for all. The Squamish Pride Parade features a vibrant and diverse display of floats, performances and individuals of all ages marching for awareness, representation, social justice and the right to be who they are," reads the listing.
6. On June 7, from 8 to 11 p.m., it's the HSSS Prom Committee Fundraiser featuring band She Stole My Beer at the Brackendale Art Gallery: Café & Culture Centre, located at 41950 Government Rd.
"Join us for a fundraiser in support of Squamish’s 2025 high school grads! Enjoy a high-energy live show by She Stole My Beer at Brackendale Art Gallery," reads the listing. Tickets are $50 at the door or in advance.
