A new standard of excellence was established at the second annual Mini-Putt Classic at Whistle Punk Hollow on Aug. 25.
Brandon Canning shattered the course record at the local mini-golf course with a sparkling score of 33 to take home the coveted trophy.
Canning shot four hole in one鈥檚 in the championship foursome and only shot above a birdie once when he scored a three on hole 17. He shot 16 on the front nine to gain a five stroke lead and built that gap to an 11 stroke advantage by the end of the 18 holes.
A total of 16 golfers separated into four groups hit the course, with the lowest score from each foursome advancing to the championship final four. Canning received a gift certificate for the Whistler Blackcomb Liquor Store and a round for two at the Furry Creek Golf and Country Club for his efforts.
