Guns and Hoses returns

Annual charity hockey game set for Friday

The Squamish RCMP look to repeat last year鈥檚 performance at the 13th annual Guns and Hoses charity hockey game.

The game, scheduled for Friday (March 20), pits members of the Squamish RCMP detachment and Squamish Fire Rescue Services (SFRS) against each other, all for a good cause.

Last year鈥檚 battle saw the RCMP post a 7-3 win to end a streak of two straight wins for the SFRS. The RCMP earned bragging rights with wins in 2011 and 2010.

The boys in blue and red hit the ice to help raise money for a local charity and 2015 is no different, with all proceeds from the game going towards Hilltop House Support Society and the Squamish Food Bank.

The game also features a puck toss for prizes during the intermission, a shoot out and a 50/50 raffle. Entry to the game is by donation of a non-perishable food item or cash.

Puck drop at Brennan Park Arena is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, with doors opening for the event at 6 p.m.
