Hockey action returns to Squamish

Exhibition weekend, two regular season games on tap

The relationship between the Squamish Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) and the British Columbia Major Midget League (小蓝视频MML) continues to grow and the 小蓝视频MML鈥檚 Exhibition Weekend in Squamish is proof positive.

For the third straight year, teams from the 小蓝视频MML will play a series of games at Brennan Park Arena this weekend, with all games free to attend for the public.聽

It all kicks off with the Greater Vancouver Canadians squaring off against the Vancouver NW Giants on Friday (Sept. 12) at 7:15 p.m.

The Giants were the top team in the 小蓝视频MML last season, while the Canadians were ranked fourth in the 12-team division.

Action continues on Saturday (Sept. 13), with the Giants holding a team practice at 11 a.m. before facing off with the Thompson Blazers at 5 p.m.聽

The series of games concludes with the Blazers taking on the Canadians on Sunday (Sept. 14) at 10 a.m.

The SMHA also announced that the Giants are returning to Squamish later this year for two regular season games. The Giants host the Vancouver NE Chiefs on Nov. 1 and the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds on Dec. 13.

Both games occur at Brennan Park Arena, are free to attend and start at 5:30 p.m.
