For the first time ever the British Columbia Major Midget League (小蓝视频MML) is hosting a regular season game in Squamish.
The Vancouver NW Giants play the first of two home games at Brennan Park Arena on Saturday (Nov. 1) and the entire community is invited to check out this free hockey excitement.
Alumni from the Giants include former Squamish Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) products Dalton Thrower, Malik Kaila, Josh Thrower and Jarid Lukosevicius.
The game is an extension of the relationship between the SMHA and the Giants that has been established from the 小蓝视频MML Exhibition Weekend, which has occurred the last three years in Squamish.
As of press time, the Giants are in second place in the 小蓝视频MML with a perfect record of nine wins and no losses, while the Chiefs are tied for fourth with 12 points.
Kal Tire Squamish sponsors Saturday鈥檚 game and a pair of Vancouver Canucks tickets will be given away to the SMHA team that has the largest percentage of players attending the game. All SMHA players are encouraged to wear their SMHA green jersey to the game.
The Giants return to Squamish for another home game on Dec. 13 when they host the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds.
It all goes down at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at Brennan Park Arena. For more information on the SMHA, visit ww.squamishminorhockey.com
