A boys soccer team made up of U11 Squamish boys won all four of its games en route to the championship of a North Vancouver spring break tournament the weekend of March 23 and 24.
The team, made up of players recommended by their Squamish Youth Soccer Association house league coaches, practiced together for four weeks before competing in the tournament, Peter Weiland, one of the team's coaches, wrote in an email.
During the tournament, Squamish United defeated the North Vancouver Rovers 5-0, the Wesburn Revolution 4-0, the North Vancouver Wandering Vipers 2-0 and the North Vancouver Orcas 4-1.
Team members included Michael Weiland, Samuel Misquitta, Rayman Biring, Cameron Koronko, Kaden Scott, Andrew Waiya, Colby Venekamp, Tyler Blasak, Luke Auchterlonie, Isaac McCarthy, Martin Wells, Graham Sayle and Jeremy Pope.
