WINNIPEG — There was a happy ending to the search for a four-year-old boy in a rural area north of Winnipeg.

The boy was reported missing on Wednesday morning.

RCMP say he was seen at bedtime Tuesday in his home near Teulon, but was not in his bedroom in the morning.

Mounties said the boy is known to sleepwalk but has never left his home before and was believed to be only in his underwear.

Police and search-and-rescue teams searched the area, using drones and service dogs, and RCMP asked area residents to check their properties.

By afternoon, the Mounties said the boy had been safely located, but provided no further details.
