Our 小蓝视频 online poll results are not something we would bet the bank on鈥攚e aren鈥檛 Ipsos or Angus Reid, after all.
But they do give us a unique insight into what at least some local folks think.
And they have been surprisingly accurate of late.
Our online poll rightly predicted Jeremy Valeriote, of the Green Party of British Columbia, would become our member of the legislature.
This election, the results of our polls have been interesting as well
For example, asked, 鈥淗ave you changed your mind on who you support for MP during the course of the campaign so far?鈥 78% of our poll respondents said no.
That is interesting, given all the work the candidates do to earn residents鈥 votes.
Another poll asked, 鈥淗ave you already decided who you are voting for in the federal election?鈥
A whopping 80% said yes, and that was back at the end of March.
So, seems like most people have had their minds made up from the start.
But on the flip side, when asked, 鈥淐ompared with past elections, how much attention are you paying to the upcoming federal election?鈥 the answer that garnered the most votes (47%) was 鈥淚 am much more engaged this election.鈥
It seems odd that people would be so engaged if they had already made up their minds.
Of course, not all of our polls are about politics.
A recent poll asked, 鈥淒o you feel relatively safe from crime in Squamish?鈥
A good swath of respondents, 39%, said, 鈥淵es, I feel quite safe in Squamish.鈥
Coming in a close second, at 28%, was the answer, 鈥淚 feel safe from violent crime, but not from property theft.鈥
Other polls are more lighthearted, like, 鈥淒id you stay in Squamish or leave for Spring Break?鈥
In that case, 38% said they stayed in Squamish, while 26% said, 鈥淚 worked, so no break.鈥
Whether profound or fun, it is always valuable for us to see what readers think.
We have two new polls you can vote in right now:
