Editor, The Echo Lake backcountry cabin proposal represents the fruition of a lifelong dream of the Saindons, a local Squamish family ["Echo Lake project proposal causes concerns," The Chief, Feb. 19].

We are still caught up in the Olympics around here and each medal ceremony for Canada is a thrill - particularly when Canada wins gold.

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games are all but over. Despite what you read in the British press, it's been an overall success both as a massive sporting event, an international gathering and a showcase for our beautiful surroundings.

Editor, There has been a great deal said about full day kindergarten and how we should educate our pre-school children here in Squamish. ["Ministry rejects local kindergarten proposal," The Chief, Feb. 26].

Note: Editor, I was an Olympic volunteer at Whistler from the 8th to 19th of February. Fortunately for me I had a host family to stay with in Brackendale. They opened there home and there lives to me and truly enriched my Olympic experience.

Editor I watched the opening ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, they reflected what I believe Canadians love about our country and what it is that soothes our soles.
