The Coastal Cup dreams are over for a pair of Squamish soccer teams. Squamish United FC U13 couldn’t take advantage of the home-pitch edge, losing 3-0 to CCB V United at Quest University on Saturday (April 18).

The Sea Otter Classic proved to be a big debut for one of Squamish’s youngest competitive mountain bike riders. Squamish’s Jackson Goldstone had a strong showing at the California event, which ran from April 16 to 19.

Several Squamish teams post strong showings at return of annual event

Squamish equestrian athletes galloped home with some extra hardware after wins this weekend in Maple Ridge. Riders Shea Labrenz and Ali Hedberg both excelled at the event, each picking up a pair of wins.

For the first team since 2005, a Squamish boys soccer team has moved beyond the round of 16 at the Coastal Cup. The Squamish United FC U16 club punched its ticket to the Coastal Cup with a 3-1 win over North Delta in Delta on Saturday, April 11.

It wasn’t exactly the result that Squamish’s Harry Head wanted at the Race the Ranch event in Kamloops on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, but it’s still early in the mountain biking season.
